5 Questions That Will Help You Pick a Wedding Planner

Exclusive access to expert wedding planning advice and resources from top industry professionals.
When picking your big day vendors, it's easy to jump the gun and hire someone without really asking the right questions. And when picking your wedding planner — the primary person who will help guide and coordinate your "I dos" — it's extra important to do your due diligence.   Make sure you discuss the following things with your potential planner before signing on the dotted line:

1. Availability.

Is the potential planner available on your big day? If he or she already has a wedding booked on your date, you'll not need to inquire any further (although you can ask for a recommendation).

2. Budget.

How much will the planner's services cost? Does it fit within your budget? Does he or she have any promotions or discounts? When will your payments be due? And is a payment plan available? If you're on a tight budget, our Loverly Virtual Wedding Planner is just a download away... We offer flat-fee planning packages (at prices your wallet will love)!

3. Aesthetic.

Does the planner have a specific aesthetic? How does it play with yours? While some planners are jacks of all trades, other planners have a very distinct style, make sure you mesh well before saying "I do... want you to be my planner."

4. Services included.

What exactly will your money get you? Is your planner a full-service planner, month-of planner, or day-of coordinator? Will they help you find and work with vendors? Will they provide you with inspiration?

5. Personality.

How do you vibe with the potential planner? Will you be able to easily communicate? Will you enjoy working with this person? Once you have these questions answered, you can confidently commit to working with a wedding planner!
